About MedDev
50 Years of innovation
Mission
At MedDev, our mission is three-fold: to deliver innovative surgical and supportive devices that advance the level of care delivered by practitioners; to educate practitioners, both locally and globally, on the surgical and therapeutic benefits of our products; and to continually improve our products and services, processes and procedures all to the end of improving patients’ outcomes.
History
MedDev Corporation was founded in 1971 by attorney and entrepreneur Richard Grey and Stanford professor of plastic surgery Richard Jobe, M.D. to develop and market high quality medical devices and equipment for niche markets.
In 1972, they launched a standardized design for gold eyelid implants to treat patients who have lost the function of one or both eyelids – which can lead to dry and painful eyes and, eventually, vision loss.
MedDev has grown to become the leading provider of eyelid closure devices for the treatment of facial palsy and works with leading ophthalmic, ENT and plastic surgeons worldwide to provide the most comprehensive line of innovative surgical and non-surgical eyelid closure devices for facial palsy patients.
